Getting to Lednice

The most common route from Prague is via the D1 motorway toward Brno, then the D2 motorway south toward Bratislava. Exit at Břeclav (exit 41) and follow signs to Lednice. From Vienna (approx. 80 km – 1 hour by car)

Lednice is an easy day trip from the Austrian capital. Take the A5/E461 motorway north from Vienna, cross the Czech border near Drasenhofen/Mikulov, and continue to Lednice via Valtice. Parking in Lednice

A large paid car park is located approximately 300 metres from the castle entrance, on the eastern edge of the village. The car park has space for several hundred vehicles and is well signposted from all approach roads.

During peak summer weekends, the main car park can fill up by mid-morning. Arriving before 10:00 is advisable. An overflow car park on the outskirts of the village opens during the busiest periods.

Nearest Train Station

The nearest major railway station is Břeclav, a junction on the Vienna–Brno–Prague line. Břeclav is served by Czech Railways (ČD), ÖBB, and RegioJet. From Břeclav, local bus line 570 runs to Lednice approximately every 30–60 minutes during the day. A taxi from Břeclav to Lednice costs approximately 250–350 CZK.
